Back in 1898, E.C. Becker purchased the St Louis Browns. He then traded 50% ownership to the Robison brothers who owned the Cleveland Spiders. Part of that trade including swapping the players from the two teams because St Louis had more fans coming to their games and needed to field the better players. When the Spiders arrived, they refused to play as the Browns and were called the Perfectos for the 1899 season. In 1900, the team was renamed to the St Louis Cardinals.
Our selection of players is based on both talent and potential for college baseball. We base our selection on the player's speed, bat and throwing arm as well as their ACT and GPA. Each player is interviewed by a member of our advisory board to confirm the fit of each player to our core values.
